Man Scammed 84-Year-Old Woman Into Wiring Him $2K: Police
The man called the elderly woman living in Florida claiming to be her grandson who needed money to get out of jail, police say.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY - Police are looking for man who scammed an elderly woman into wiring him money in January.
An 84-year- old woman from Punta Gorda, Florida received a phone call on Jan. 22 from a man claiming to be her grandson and in need of money to get out of jail for a driving under the influence charge.
The woman (pictured above) sent $2,000 via Western Union and the money was picked up by a man at Walmart on 985 Route 110 in East Farmingdale.
