Man Seriously Hurt in Babylon Motorcycle Crash
The man's motorcycle struck a tree Thursday afternoon, police say.

A North Babylon man was seriously injured when his motorcycle crashed into a tree in Babylon Thursday afternoon.
According to police, Michael Funchus, 42, was riding his 2014 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle eastbound on Simon Street, when he lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a tree in front of 31 Simon Street at about 12:10 p.m.
Funchus was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where is being treated for serious head and neck injuries. He is currently listed in serious condition.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash and has not been interviewed to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
