Man Speeding on Southern State Was on Drugs: Police

Several bottles of ketamine and MDMA were found in his car Wednesday, State Police said.

A 20-year-old Queens man was charged with DWI drugs and drug possession after he was pulled over for speeding on the Southern State Parkway in Farmingdale early Wednesday, police said.

State Police realized the driver of a blue Chevrolet Tahoe was impaired after authorities pulled the vehicle over for driving 75 mph in a 55 zone and for failing to maintain lane while driving eastbound near exit 33 at 1:25 a.m.

The driver, identified as Fresh Meadows resident Andrew Pabon, failed a sobriety test and was subsequently arrested.

Authorities recovered bottles of ketamine and MDMA, as well as a small amount of marijuana after searching Pabon’s vehicle.

He also had four bottles of ketamine, an anesthetic, in his possession at the time of his arrest, police said.

Pabon was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and traffic violations. He was held for arraignment in Suffolk County First District Court.
