The details were so specific the victim believed the called was physically stalking her, police said. During a thorough investigation, officers James Johnson and Brian Raleigh identified the caller as Lichtner, formerly of 44th Street in Manhattan, and placed him under arrest in Lynbrook around 8:40 a.m. Friday.

Lichtner, who now resides at 125 Laurelton Boulevard in Long Beach, was charged with third and fourth degree stalking.

During the investigation, officers discovered Lichtner is a suspect in a similar incident that occurred in Manhattan that the NYPD is investigating, police said. It was also determined the suspect has placed hundreds of sexually explicit calls from a blocked telephone number to numerous young women in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New York and other jurisdictions over the past several years. police said.

The called located his victims by doing random Facebook searches of young women’s public profiles. He then made explicit and inappropriate phone calls to the victims based on information he garnered from their posts, police said. Police are urging members of the public to be cautious with content they post publicly on social media.

Officers believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with additional information or individuals who believe they may be a victim is asked to contact the First Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8150.

Lichtner is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday.
