Man Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Lindenhurst
Police say the 27-year-old was walking in the road when he was hit Saturday morning. Police are searching for the driver.

LINDENHURST, NY – A 27-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Lindenhurst Saturday morning, police said.
Suffolk County Police received a 911 call at about 6:15 a.m. reporting that a man was walking in the lanes of travel on northbound North Wellwood Avenue near Herzel Boulevard. About five minutes later, police received a 911 call from a different caller reporting that the man was now lying in the road. An investigation determined the man, of Brooklyn, was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.
The man, who police did not name, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of multiple broken bones and a head injury.
