AMITYVILLE, NY – A man tried to rob a Suffolk County bank Saturday afternoon, but he left empty-handed, police said.
According to police, the man entered the Citibank located at 241 Broadway in Amityville at 12:45 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The man fled the bank without any proceeds.
The man was described as black, in his late 40s, about 6-foot to 6-foot-2 with a gray beard. He was wearing a beige bucket hat, black coat and silver glasses.
