Motorcyclist Critically Injured in North Lindenhurst Crash

The crash occurred Wednesday evening, police say.

NORTH LINDENHURST, NY - A 37-year-old man is in critical condition following a crash involving a motorcycle in North Lindenhurst Wednesday evening. 

According to Suffolk Police, a Copiague man was riding a 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle west on Merritt Street around 5:10 pm when he was struck by a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling north on Wellwood Avenue and attempting to turn left onto Merritt Street. 

The motorcyclist, who police did not name, was transported via North Lindenhurst Fire Department ambulance to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Chevy, a 27-year-old Babylon woman,  remained at the scene and will not face any criminal charges, police said. 

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
