Sweet 16, Music and Giving Back
Claudia Cannam is celebrating her 16th birthday by giving instead of receiving – she is hosting a concert and donating the proceeds to The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), pioneers of the early detection program. Claudia chose NBCF because her birthday, October 14, is during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and because she is very thankful that her aunt, who was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago, has been cancer free since then.
Claudia said “I love music and I love helping people and this event lets me provide a showcase for great bands, a fun day for friends, family and music fans and most of all donating money to an organization that can help women get diagnosed and treated early like my aunt.”
The concert will be held on October 18, 2014 at Revolution Bar and Music Hall in Amityville from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The performers feature American Idol finalist Robbie Rosen headlining the show, with special guests Count To Ten, Trish Torrales, Say It Say It, Love Above All, Jordan Plantinga, Alessandra Guercio (American Idol finalist and The Voice performer), Lisa Diasparra and Maura McGovern.
Claudia’s mom is running a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe.com (Sweet 16 For Charity), to cover the expenses and she has received sponsor support from GemCraftBoutique.com of Glen Head and Gilligan Realty of Sea Cliff.
Tickets are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 day of show and can be purchased online at http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=5389985&pl=loaded
