Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car in Lindenhurst

The accident occurred Friday night, police say.

Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Lindenhurst Friday night.

According to police, a 53-year-old Lindenhurst man was driving a 2000 Saturn eastbound on Sunrise Highway, between New Highway and Straight Path, when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway at about 9:30 p.m.

The pedestrian, Choc Domingo, 40, of Bay Shore, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Medical Examiner. The driver was not injured.

The investigation is continuing. No criminal charges have been filed.
