Police: Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in N. Lindenhurst Crash

An Amityville man was seriously injured after he was ejected from his motorcycle into the back of a trailer Tuesday afternoon in North Lindenhurst, police said. 

According to police, Roberto Gonzalez, 47, was riding a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway when he came to a sudden stop and was ejected over the front of the motorcycle.

Gonzalez then struck the rear of a 2012 Isuzu refrigerated trailer that was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of Straight Path at 1:15 p.m., police said. 

Gonzalez was treated at the scene by Lindenhurst Rescue and airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. 

The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
