A NY Rising Question and Answer Event will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 6:30PM to 10:00 PM at West Babylon Junior High School, 200 Old Farmingdale Road West Babylon, NY 11704.
This event is to focus on receiving answers to many questions regarding NY Rising and its program. Thousands of residents on Long Island are still struggling with the difficult process of getting resolutions to their New York Rising applications. Many other organizations will be there to provide information, guidance and assistance on a multitude of issues and circumstances surrounding the process many residents are experiencing. The goal of the event is to provide information and resources to affected residents, clear up any ambiguity regarding the NYRising process and provide them the answers are seeking, as well as put them in touch with other organizations and groups who can assist them on several different levels and in a variety of ways.
The event is taking place from 6pm to 10pm to help families attend the Q & A and also be able to gain information from other groups attending. At 7pm, NY Rising will begin their Q & A group session. The event is hosted by the Town of Babylon, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and Adopt A House.

“Our goal for this event is to provide the affected residents the clarity and information they have been so desperately seeking regarding NY Rising. Many are confused about the process and have questions, so we hope the Q&A will be helpful for many. In addition, the amount of groups and quality of organizations in attendance will be able to guide people in the right direction, inform them of resources and programs, and communicate on a one-on-one basis,” says Jennifer Mackie-Aulino of Adopt A House. “We think there will be a tremendous takeaway and benefit for any residents that attend, and we urge people to come and take advantage of this event to assist them as they still grapple with the prolonged personal fallout of Sandy”
