Rall Rocks 'Read My Shirt Day'
"Our first annual "Read my Shirt Day" was a great success," said reading specialist Lissa Scavone-Mussillo.

Students and staff of William Rall Elementary School started the year off right by celebrating “Read My Shirt Day” in recognition of International Literacy Day on Sept. 8.
Throughout the school you could find people donning shirts with messages or slogans in an effort to encourage reading. In some cases, students made their own shirts.
“Our first annual “Read my Shirt Day” was a great success,” said reading specialist Lissa Scavone-Mussillo. “Students who were able to read a t-shirt were able to do something that over 800 million people worldwide can’t do. It was so gratifying to see students get excited about the event and bring awareness to an issue that they have probably never thought about before.”
