Rall Students Spell Winners

Students took part in the school's annual Scripps National Spelling Bee.

From Lindenhurst Union Free School District: On Dec. 18, fourth- and fifth-grade students of William Rall Elementary School in the Lindenhurst Union Free School District took part in the school’s annual Scripps National Spelling Bee. The students qualified for a spot after winning their class bees.

Students took on many complicated words with confidence. After several rounds, only two contestants remained – fifth-graders Anthony Garland and Kerem Satar. Anthony emerged as the winner by correctly spelling “testament.”

As a school winner, Anthony will now be able to compete in the Hofstra Long Island Regional Spelling Bee in February 2018.
