Shots Fired From Vehicle Strike N. Amityville Home

Police are investigating a shooting after 911 callers reported gunfire in North Amityville Monday morning.

According to police, umerous 911 callers reported shots being fired from a white vehicle at a black Acura sedan near County Line Road and Bentley Road around 8:30 a.m.

By the time First Precinct officers arrived, both vehicles had fled the scene, police said. Investigations revealed that shots were fired and a bullet struck an occupied home on County Line Road in North Amityville.

There were no injuries reported. A short time later, officers located the Acura, which was unoccupied, at a residence on East Smith Street in North Amityville.

The vehicle was impounded and the investigation is continuing.
