The Souper Bowl of Caring Is Back!
The Lindy Community Joins forces with Lindy High School to connect our community!

Lindenhurst High School, in partnership with Lindenhurst Community Cares, is proud to announce the return of a beloved community tradition, the SOUPER Bowl of Caring. Organized in collaboration with Lindy Cares and the School-Based Community Connectors Committee, the event brings together community partners and residents for a day focused on service, connection, and giving back.
The family-friendly event invites community members to participate in a coat drive and non-perishable food drive in support of neighbors in need. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy the chili and bake-off offerings, visit community resource tables, and take part in a welcoming space designed to bring Lindenhurst together.
Anyone who donates or participates in the event will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a big-screen television donated by Belfast GastroPub, offering an added element of excitement while reinforcing the spirit of generosity that defines the SOUPER Bowl of Caring.
A highlight of the day is the Chili Cook-Off and Bake-Off, featuring entries prepared by Lindenhurst High School staff. The dishes will be judged by professionals from the Culinary Institute, and members of the public will be invited to sample the food and vote for their favorites.
The event also showcases a wide range of local organizations, service clubs, youth groups, and volunteer programs. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about available resources, connect with community partners, and explore ways to get involved in ongoing local initiatives.
Families with young children are encouraged to register in advance using the provided link. From 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., the school gymnasium will host a Connected Community space for children, led by youth leaders and designed to engage participants through creative, emotional, and movement-based activities.
During this time, parents and caregivers are invited to explore networking opportunities and informational sessions, including the Hidden in Plain Sight Room, an interactive space focused on prevention education, community resources, and volunteer engagement.
The SOUPER Bowl of Caring is also a celebration of collaboration, including the contributions of Helping Hands Committees from local elementary school PTAs, who assisted in planning children’s activities and strengthening community partnerships.
All donations not consumed at the event will be donated to St. John’s Church Pantry. Community members with questions may contact lindycareslcc@gmail.com, and those interested in learning more are encouraged to view videos from previous years highlighting this longstanding Lindenhurst tradition.
