Teen Arrested For Trying To Rob Gas Station At Knifepoint: SCPD

The 18-year-old attempted to rob the local business but was thwarted by the employee who swung a metal stool at him, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY - An Amityville Harbor teen was arrested on Tuesday for attempting to rob a gas station in Lindenhurst earlier this month, according to Suffolk Police.

Donald Duffey, 18, entered Ultra gas station on 571 West Montauk Highway, on September 4, at 3:05 p.m., displayed a knife and demanded money, police said.

When the employee refused, Duffey tried to take money from the register, police said.

Detectives then arrested Duffey in Amityville Harbor at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.

He was charged with first degree attempted robbery.
