Teen Charged With Selling E-Liquid Nicotine To Minor: Police

The 18-year-old employee at a local business sold e-liquid nicotine to a minor during a police investigation on Friday, cops say.

AMITYVILLE, NY - A Glen Cove teen was arrested on Friday night for selling e-liquid nicotine to a minor at an Amityville business, according to Suffolk Police.

In response to community complaints, officers conducted an investigation at 10 businesses within the Town of Babylon on Friday between 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

As a result of the investigation 18-year-old Monakhal Wariech, an employee at Valero Gas Station on 490 Broadway, was arrested an charged with second degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said.

In addition, the owner of the gas station was issued a notice of violation by the Suffolk County Department of Health.

The following businesses complied and refused the sale of E-liquid nicotine and/or alcohol to minors:

  • Clean Vapor - 37 West Hoffman Avenue, Lindenhurst
  • Cuzins Smoke Shop & Convenience Store - 117 North Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst
  • Bing’s Smoke Shop & Grocery - 1002 Montauk Highway, Copiague
  • Collado Hookah - 80G Montauk Highway, Copiague
  • Mega Gas Station - 624 Broadway, Amityville
  • Valero Gas Station - 10 Long Island Avenue, Wyandanch
  • Sunoco Gas Station - 1580 Straight Path, Wyandanch
  • Allah Convenience Store - 1308 Straight Path, Wyandanch
  • Shell Gas Station - 1160 Straight Path, West Babylon

Wariech is scheduled for arraignment on July 10.
