UPDATE: Lindenhurst High Principal Addresses Threats Toward School
Police will be at the school next week following threats found on bathroom walls. After school activities could be canceled.

Suffolk County Police will be at Lindenhurst High School on Friday, Dec. 11 as a precaution after threats were found written on bathroom walls at the school.
The threats, which were written on different days, both made threats toward the school for Dec. 11. Police will not say what exactly was written on the walls.
Lindenhurst High School Principal Christopher Gitz issued the following message Thursday:

“On Tuesday, December 1, words describing a future threat to the high school on 12/11/15 were found in the building. In compliance with District protocol, and in order to safeguard all of the students and staff, the district will be adding additional security measures at the high school.
As this is an ongoing investigation, the following protocols will ONLY be put into place if the responsible parties are not identified by Thursday, December 10.

On Thursday, 12/10/15, the following precautions could be taken:
Student would be required to collect any items needed for the evening before 9th period.
Students would be dismissed at 2:05 p.m.
The building would be locked down and secured after all students leave.
After school and evening activities would be cancelled
On Friday, 12/11/15 the following security measures would be in effect:
Students would not be allowed into the building until 7 a.m.
Students would only be able to enter through the front and rear doors
The Suffolk County Police Department would be present
All bags would be subject to inspection
Hall passes would be restricted
