West Babylon Taxpayers should vote NO on School Budget

Only 4 out of 124 L.I. school districts have proposed a budget that exceeds the cap limit set by the Governor; West Babylon is one of the four. 120 school boards have figured out a way to stay within the cap: not West Babylon. Is it laziness? Incompetence? Arrogance? Out of touch with reality? Exceeding the cap results in higher school taxes (again) and the loss of the NYS tax rebate. Average 2014 US salary increases remain at only 3%. Social Security increase was only 1.5%. Proposed budget results in a 3.61% tax levy increase. YOU, the taxpayer have to cut back because the school board would not. This is your opportunity to stop the cycle of ever increasing school taxes and say NO on May 20, 2014.
