Woman Charged With Robbing Store Twice At Knifepoint: Police

After the 28-year-old was arrested for robbing the convenience store this week, officers found she had robbed the same store in October.

LINDENHURST, NY - A Lindenhurst woman was arrested on Wednesday for robbing a Lindenhurst convenience store twice at knifepoint, according to Suffolk Police.

Leana Anderson, 28, entered The Barn on 691 Wellwood Avenue pointed a knife at an employee and demanded cash at about 11 a.m., police said.

She then opened the register, took proceeds from the drawer and fled on foot southbound on Straight Path.

Responding officers tracked her to an area near 52nd Street in Lindenhurst, police said. After a thorough canvas of the area, detectives found Anderson at her home, police said

She was brought to the First Precinct in West Babylon where she was arrested at 1 p.m.

Further investigation revealed Anderson was also responsible for a knifepoint robbery that occurred at the same convenience store on October 20, 2017, police said.

She was charged with two counts of first degree robbery.

Anderson will be held at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
