Woman Critically Injured After Motorcycle Collides With Jeep Driven by Lindenhurst Man

The accident occurred in Islip on Sunday afternoon.

A woman was critically injured when her motorcycle crashed into a Jeep in Islip on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, 26-year-old Amanda Dominick, of Islip, was riding a 2001 Suzuki 750 north on Cedar Avenue when the motorcycle collided with a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling east on Maple Street at 4 p.m.

Dominick was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was listed in critical condition. The driver of the Jeep, 34-year-old Timothy Kaye, of Lindenhurst, was not injured.

There is a four-way stop at the intersection where the crash occurred, but it is unclear who had the right of way.

The vehicles were impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.

Another motorcycle crash on Sunday on Sunrise Highway claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman. Megan Proctor, of Bay Shore, was a passenger on her husband’s motorcycle when it crashed in West Islip. Her husband, 26-year-old Michael R. Proctor, was charged with DWI.
