Syracuse.com's weekly softball rankings (through May 11): New No. 1 in Class C (syracuse.com) — Liverpool High School’s softball team is sitting at No. 2 in the Class AAA Syracuse.com rankings this week, just behind Cicero-North Syracuse. With sectionals approaching, several top-ranked teams are squaring off, and Liverpool’s 7-4 record keeps them firmly in the championship conversation for local fans.
   

2. CNY Diaper Bank fetes 10 Years of impact and 15 million diapers distributed (oneidadispatch.com) — Liverpool’s CNY Diaper Bank is celebrating 10 years and 15 million diapers distributed while running its 11th annual “Make a Mother’s Day” Diaper Drive throughout May. Residents can donate money, diapers, or host drives locally, with May contributions matched up to $10,000 to help Central New York families struggling with diaper costs.
   

3. CNY schools still buying diesel buses as NY considers EV mandate delay (cnycentral.com) — Liverpool schools are planning to buy 10 new diesel buses as state leaders move toward delaying New York’s electric school bus mandate by five years. Local officials and residents raise concerns about cost, cold-weather performance, and reliability, while still backing cleaner transportation in the long run for Central New York districts.
   

4. Village of Camillus moves forward with new $2M biking and walking trail (syracuse.com) — A major new biking and walking trail in nearby Camillus is moving ahead, with design work led by Barton and Loguidice, an engineering firm that has offices in Liverpool. The five-mile route would link the Empire State Trail to Camillus, include a new pedestrian bridge and rail crossing, and could eventually extend toward Marcellus and Otisco Lake if long-term plans pan out.
