• Milling, resurfacing project to begin on Transit Road in Niagara County (spectrumlocalnews.com) — Drivers in and around Lockport should expect major work on Transit Road this year, with milling and resurfacing from the Lockport south city line through the towns of Lockport and Pendleton. Most work will happen at night to keep two-way traffic moving. A separate $4.35 million project on Transit Road and Route 31 in the city of Lockport will start later this summer and run through 2027. 
• As America celebrates semiquincentennial, Tops hosts 'Stars for Our Troops' program (wnypapers.com) — Lockport residents can drop off worn American flags at the Tops on South Transit Road starting May 10, as part of a regional “Stars for Our Troops” collection. Donated flags are respectfully retired, with cleaned embroidered stars later gifted to local veterans in hospitals, nursing homes, and Honor Flight care packages through partner veterans organizations.
