The restaurant was serving customers at the time, but there were no injuries, the sheriff's office said.

About 150 firefighters responded to fight the blaze, which took 70 minutes to bring under control, Newsday reported.

Video shared by LI Fire Buff on Facebook showed smoke rising from the restaurant as firefighters worked on the fire.

The restaurant has been operating since 1938, according to its Facebook page, and serving customers on Long Island for more than 30 years, according to its website.

It also includes a seafood market, a clam bar and a "backyard bar," the website said.
