• Former Hebrew Academy Site Goes Before Long Beach Zoning Board This Week (patch.com) — Long Beach residents are being asked to weigh in as the Zoning Board considers a major proposal to replace the long-vacant former Hebrew Academy campus on West Broadway with an eight-story residential complex. The plan includes two six-story apartment towers above a large parking podium, extensive amenities like a pool and fitness center, and could significantly expand the city's tax base.
   

• Long Beach Police Seize Guns, Drugs And Cash In Joint Raid With FBI: City (patch.com) — Long Beach officials say a joint raid by city police, county authorities and the FBI removed more than 20 guns, large quantities of hard drugs and over $100,000 in cash from a local home. A 34-year-old Long Beach resident has been charged with dozens of drug and weapons offenses and has pleaded not guilty, while city leaders praise police for improving neighborhood safety.
   

• New York's 20 Best High Schools For 2026-27 Revealed (hudsonvalleypost.com) — Long Beach Senior High School has been ranked 26th in New York and 2,785th nationally in U.S. News' latest high school rankings.
