Baby Boomers are shocked that JFK may (or may not) have been assassinated by the CIA, that it was impossible for the WTC to turn into dust after being hit by a plane; that weather [and hurricanes] may (or may not) be intentionally caused, and so on. Forget about prior generations. Possible responses are: "There is nothing you can do about it, so I will not discuss it" or "He is my president (or other politician) and I will not discuss it".
Younger generations do not believe government. A president or other politician that lies or makes false statements is expected. Younger generations cannot process "my word is my bond".
Another observation: Children in the US are taught: "Don't talk about religion and politics." Adults are miffed when their college graduate can not find North America on a globe.
Maybe my observations are wrong.
