Bicyclist Killed In Atlantic Beach Crash, Police Say
The crash took place at 7:46 a.m. on Beech Street, police say.
ATLANTIC BEACH, NY — A 67-year-old woman was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing a death Tuesday after she struck a bicyclist while driving eastbound on Beach Street in Atlantic Beach, police said.
Nassau County police said Long Beach resident Erin Henry was driving a Honda HRV on Beech Street at 7:46 a.m. Tuesday. As she drove near the intersection with Scott Drive, her car struck the man on the bike, who remains unidentified, police said.
After the accident, police said Henry fled the scene while the Long Beach Fire Department pronounced the man dead at the scene.

After an investigation in tandem with Long Beach police, Nassau County police said Henry was arrested without incident and would be arraigned on the charge of leaving the scene of an incident causing a death Wednesday. Police said no other injuries were reported in the accident and that an investigation was ongoing.
