Centennial Performances On Calendar For Long Beach
Residents can enjoy music on Friday nights from June-September.

LONG BEACH, NY — As the city of Long Beach marks its 100th year, more celebrating is on the schedule.
Centennial Nights in the Plaza will take place on three Friday nights during the summer.
The program features live music in Kennedy Plaza, while browsing local art.

It starts on June 24 with 100 Musician Interactive Concert features the Long Beach Ukulele Orchestra.
On Aug. 12, 100 handcrafted floating lanterns and a full moon ceremony with Taiko Masala drummers. The lanterns will be available for decoration starting on July 16.

On Sept. 23, the final edition of the centennial nights features a performance of Half Step, a Grateful Dead tribute band.
Those attending are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Each night's show is scheduled to run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
