Christmas, On the Sea of Love
I think we need this: Some of us put up a wreath, some lights, even add some music. Others go a bit further—with profound love.

Long Beach lights up every year with the joy of Christmas. From my humble terrace, I can see red and green lights spread across our horizon.
Driving or walking our streets I’m amazed at the variety of decor with which people garnish their homes: Lights, music, inflatables, on houses, shrubs, lawns. It’s just an incredible display of hope and happiness.
Just what we need in Long Beach these days.

I visited a wonderful woman who created an astounding garden memorial for her deceased Vietnam vet husband. I wrote about her garden a couple of years ago, but never experienced her veneration of his memory in her Christmas display.
She spared no cost in creating it. It’s not only a beautifully decorated Sea of Love for her to enjoy. It’s a delight to the eye for us weary dwellers in the City By The Sea.
