City Releases Long Beach Irish Day Guidelines

Irish Heritage Festival and Parade is Sept. 27.

With one of the biggest Long Beach celebrations of the year just days away, City of Long Beach officials have released guidelines about the Irish Heritage Festival & Parade.

One difference from recent celebrations is a newly launched “Kids Zone” which will be set up at West School. The Kids Zone will have a family-friendly environment with plenty of activities.

The basic timeline of Irish Day includes:

  • 11 a.m. Festival and parade begins. Parade starts at Washington Boulevard and heads for West Beech Street
  • 5 p.m. Festival ends
  • 6 p.m. Beech Street cleared
  • 1 a.m. Bars stop admitting customers
  • 2 a.m. Bars close

The City specified that there will be no parking on West Beech Street between New York Avenue and Nevada Street between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sept. 27.
