Community Unites With Interfaith Shabbat At Long Beach Synagogue
The Dec. 16 service at Temple Emanu-El will feature religious leaders from local churches.

LONG BEACH, NY — In an effort to bring the community together as a counterbalance to a rise of anti-Semitism, Temple Emanu-El in Long Beach will hold an interfaith Shabbat service.
The synagogue, led by Rabbi Jack Zanerhaft, is calling the Dec. 16 gathering, "Bringing Light: The Winter Holidays of Many Faiths.
Along with Rabbi Zanerhaft, Rev. Susan Bock of St. James-Jerusalem Episcopal Church, Bishop Mark Moses of the New Life Church of Christ and Pastor TK of CenterPoint Church will speak.

A festive meal will follow the 7:30 p.m. service.
