Dispute At Island Park Dealership Leads To Crash, Arrest: Police
Steven Megel is accused of crashing into a vehicle after fleeing a car dealership where he had an altercation Monday, Nassau police said.

ISLAND PARK, NY — A man is accused of getting into a heated exchange with another man working at a car dealership, before crashing into two cars Monday afternoon, police said.
During the dispute, Steven Megel, 36, of Brooklyn, forcibly removed the 59-year-old victim's cell phone from his hands, detectives said.
As Megel fled he struck a 2018 Kia Soul in the parking lot of the Austin Boulevard dealership, police said.

Upon exiting the dealership, Megel slammed into a 2020 Toyota Sienna at Weidner Avenue and Lawson Boulevard. The 60-year-old female driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, police said.
Megel left the scene on foot, but was located a short time later by officers who were canvassing the vicinity. He was arrested without any further incident, detectives said.

Megel was expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Hempstead on charges of robbery, assault and criminal mischief, police said.
