Gina Palamone’s work is bold, beautiful, and tends to speak for itself. She mixes wood with her photography and art which creates a resonating spectacle for the eyes. Each piece has its own voice itching to be heard. I wanted to discover a little more about the stories behind her photography and mind behind her art.
Her photograph artwork first started when she was traveling. She said that, “At a young age my mom would be like ‘Oh, we are going to go to Tahiti and Curaçao,’ and I was like ‘What are those places?’” The big canvas paintings and drawings started when she was younger, and from then on it developed into the skateboards and surfboards.
The skateboards in particular are one of her favorite pieces to make because they are very fun. But, also, the photographs with the woodworking are close to her heart. Overall, she loves doing custom work for people and it is a good outlet for her. The custom pieces are special to her because it fills her with joy knowing that they make others happy and that her work are in other people’s homes.

Her skills as an artist became more refined overtime. Also, her work as she mentions, is definitely “more personable,” now then when she first started. She mentions specifically with her photography that she is more connected and able to go more “in depth” than before when it comes to these pieces.
Besides creating, she enjoys teaching and talking to people. Along the lines of teaching, she hosts “Sip and Paint” at SpeakEasy every two to three weeks on Wednesdays.
