Delayed Open For Swimmers In Long Beach
It's from of the offshore storm activity and this week's super blue moon.
LONG BEACH, NY — While swimming was reinstated Friday at Jones Beach, it took longer to get that result in Long Beach.
After swimming was prohibited in the morning, lifeguards gave the "go-ahead" to open by 1 p.m. for knee-deep swimming, a city spokesperson said.
It follows only waist-deep swimming allowed on Thursday in Long Beach. The precautions came as a pair of storms meandered well offshore combined with the super blue moon.
