Honor Them

When you hear the roar of a plane coming in from the Atlantic—does it make you think? It should.

Planes coming in overhead, their droning sound bouncing off our beach, our boardwalk, so routine, so part of life.

What of others on this planet, over the decades, who dread the sound of roars from the sky? Fear! Dread! Also sadly—so part of their lives.

Thanks to our armed forces, our veterans, we are a safe country, no planes do us harm. Our military is much a part of that.

Only one percent of Americans serve to keep the rest of us from harm

Yes, that's right, only one percent of us serve in our armed forces.

I know those who didn't serve have their reasons and I respect them. But I also know those who didn't serve are deeply grateful to those who did, especially grateful to those families who lost brothers, sisters, moms, dads, sons, daughters—ancestors.

When I made this video the Veteran's Day Parade Director told me, "Whenever anyone asks why we put this parade together, I ask them just to view your video."

I was so honored to hear him say that and I'm honored today to share it with you as we Honor Veterans

Be well,
