H.O.O.K.E.D. TEEN CLUB JOINS NATIONWIDE PARTNERSHIP

In honor of National Impaired Driving Prevention Month, the H.O.O.K.E.D. Teen Club is joining with City of Dacula to reduce impaired driving

December 3, 2015 -- In honor of National Impaired Driving Prevention Month, the H.O.O.K.E.D. Teen Club is joining nationwide partnerships with local communities like the City of Dacula to reduce impaired driving, and will be receiving a proclamation from Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks at the Dacula City Council Meeting on Thursday, December 3rd at 7:00pm. As the holidays near ever close, the crash rate from impaired driving increases. Statistics drawn from recent surveys indicate that 40% of motor vehicle crashes involved at least one person that was driving under the influence. On average, 304 people die from the actions take by those driving under the influence during the Christmas to New Year holiday season according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The H.O.O.K.E.D. Teen Club strives to educate teens and the general public about the dangers and consequences of the drugged and impaired driving. National Impaired Driving Prevention Month is sponsored by the Office of National Drug Control Policy and President Obama to encourage local communities to focus on the prevention and treatment of alcohol and substance abuse problems.

The H.O.O.K.E.D (Helping Others Organized Kreative Everyday Differences) Teen Club is a volunteer youth action team equipping teens with strategies for positive youth development, mobilizing them to lead change in their community and schools, and addressing substance abuse issues.
