KC & Sunshine Band Opens Town Of Hempstead Free Summer Concerts
The July 1 performance is one of more than 30 shows scheduled through Sept. 2.
POINT LOOKOUT, NY — Summer nights and free concerts are a nice combination. The Town of Hempstead starts the series on July 1 with KC and the Sunshine Band.
Famous for 1970s hits that include "That's the Way" and "Get Down Tonight," the KC and the Sunshine Band performance at Town Park on Point Lookout concludes with fireworks.
The 7:30 p.m. is billed as a "Salute to Veterans."

More than two dozen "tribute" concerts at various locations within the town, including Newbridge Road Park in Bellmore, Merrick Road Park in Merrick and Seamans Neck Park in Seaford.
The summer series concludes on Saturday, Sept. 2 with Mike DelGuidice, known for his years fronting a Billy Joel tribute band and performing with the legendary "Piano Man." That show at Town Park on Point Lookout also features fireworks.
