Long Beach varsity track star Joshua Trone won the NYS Track Championship in the 100 meter dash at the state competition, held at Caledonia Mumford High School in Caledonia, New York, from June 10 to 11.
Trone finished first in all divisions in the state with a time of 10.84 seconds, beating out runners in Division 1, Division 2, Catholic schools and New York City schools. This was Trone’s best performance of the season, setting a new school record.
Under the guidance of Coach Greg Milone, the boys’ track team earned the Division Championship title — the team’s first division championship in over 30 years.
