Library Reopens With Limited Access For Visitors

The Long Beach Public Library had to shut last week as the COVID-19 cases grow on Long Island.

LONG BEACH, NY — All branches of the Long Beach Public Library reopened 0n Monday. However, customers can only visit for 30 minutes per day.

All programs are being done via Zoom for the time being.

Visitors are required to wear a mask in the building regardless of vaccine status, the library tweeted.

The library was forced to close the week between Christmas and New Year's due to a shortage of staff amid the COVID-19 spike.

Long Island remains the most active part of New York for COVID-19 cases with a 25% positivity rate as of Sunday, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul's office.
