Long Beach Fundraiser Helping People With Special Needs To Surf

LONG BEACH, NY — Long Beach is known for sand and surf. A fundraiser is being on this week to expose people to the ocean, who might not have the opportunity.

Surf For All is a Long Beach-based not-for-profit organization that creates adaptive surf outings. The events are designed to provide surfing experiences to people with disability or special needs.

The annual charity event is Tuesday evening at Bright Eye Beer.

Admission, for adults only, is $85 per person. The price includes an open bar, buffet-style food, music and dessert.

"We believe the ocean is a source of healing and spiritual strength that should be accessible to all," Surf For All said on its website.
