Long Beach Good News of the Week: Local Resident Elected to Family and Children’s Association​'s Board of Trustees

Want some relief from all the local bad news? Here's one piece of good news coming out of the Long Beach area to help start off your week:

Long Beach resident David Lyons, VP of Business Services for PSEG Long Island, was recently been elected to Family and Children’s Association's Board of Trustees.

“I am deeply honored to have been elected to sit on the board of FCA,” Lyons said. “For more than 130 years, this organization has devoted itself to easing the financial, health and societal issues that most directly impact the communities of Long Island. Long Island is my home… and it is tremendously satisfying to me to be able to focus my energies in concert with the dedicated workers and volunteers at FCA.”

Lyons received an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from New York University, Stern School of Business and is a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering technology.

Before joining PSEG Long Island, he served as director of treasury operations at PSEG where he was responsible for PSEG’s headquarters facilities, corporate real estate, and survey and mapping.

After joining PSEG in 1981, he held a variety of senior level positions in PSEG, including director of medical services, director of workforce planning and development, director IT business solutions, director e-business strategy, and general manager of IT Operations and Client Services.

Most recently, last year Lyons was named Vice President of Business Services for PSEG.

In this role, he coordinates the shared services functions, acting as a primary point of contact internally and for the Long Island Power Authority.

“We are delighted that Mr. Lyons has agreed to serve as a member of the Board of FCA," FCA Board Chair Drew Crowley. "He is well-known and very highly-regarded by the people of Long Island, both for his incredible business acumen and his compassionate concern for our neighbors in need of support and encouragement."

Lyons currently resides in Long Beach with his wife.
