Long Beach Host Winter Blood Drive As Need 'Never Greater'
You can register online for the Dec. 28 event.
LONG BEACH, NY — As winter approaches, it is an urgent time for blood donation. The New York Blood Center says the need for blood "has never been greater."
To that end, the City of Long Beach, in coordination with the NYBC, is holding its Winter Blood Drive later this month.
The Dec. 28 event is scheduled for the Magnolia Center Senior Center.

While people can walk in, appointments are preferred. Spots are filling up, so it's encouraged that you register online.
Those who arrive early to donate will receive a pair of warm socks, the city of Long Beach said on its website.
