Long Beach Kite Festival To Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

LONG BEACH, NY — You've probably heard the phrase, "Why don't you go fly a kite?"

Well, the city of Long Beach is taking that seriously with a kite festival this weekend.

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the kite flying event takes place on Saturday afternoon at Magnolia Beach.

Free kites will be handed out while supplies last or fly your own. Participants will also vie for a prize.

The event, scheduled for from noon-2 p.m., is being coordinated by the Long Beach Latino Civic Association.
