Long Beach Man Plays in Softball Senior All Star Game

Tom Crenades played on the "Orthos" that defeated the "Cardios."

One year after a knee replacement, 75-year-old Tom Crenades of Long Beach recently took part in the first annual “Cardio vs. Ortho” Senior Softball All-Star Game.

The game, sponsored by the Bristal assisted living community, featured players over the age of 70 who underwent heart-related surgeries against those whose lives were improved following orthopedic operations such as knee or hip replacement.

The “Orthos” defeated the “Cardios” 9-7. The All Stars who compete in the Long Island Senior Softball Association (LISSA) play two doubleheaders a week.
