Long Beach Polar Bears Raise $670,000 For Critically Ill Children

The annual plunge took place on Super Bowl Sunday.

LONG BEACH, NY — This year's Long Beach Polar Bears Splash raised $670,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The annual Super Bowl Sunday ocean run began in 2000. Since the first plunge, more than $9 million has been raised for children with life-threatening medical conditions to have their wishes fulfilled.

It was started in honor of Paulie Bradley, who died at the age of 4.
