Long Beach Teacher Accused of Abusing Students to Speak at Public Forum

LONG BEACH, NY - A Long Beach teacher accused of abusing several students will be telling her side of the story at a public forum on Wednesday morning.

Last fall, the Long Beach Teacher Accused Of Abuse reported allegations of child abuse at the Middle School and the cover-up of the charges.

Last Friday, the prosecution of the teacher finally began.

The school district alleges that the teacher verbally and physically abused several students in the class including locking one in a bathroom for prolonged periods of time, using tie-wrap restraints on another student, pushing and striking students and taunting a student telling him that he was dirty and smelled bad, according to the group.

The teacher says she is innocent and has elected to permit the public to attend her hearing so she can tell her side of the story in an open forum.

The hearings will resume on Wednesday starting at 10 a.m. at Lindell Elementary School located on 601 Lindell Boulevard.
