Tickets are on sale now for Long Beach Theatre Guild / Sisterhood of Temple Emanu-el production of "Don't Drink the Water " , 11/8 -11/16

The Cold War may be over, but the Long Beach Theatre Guild will be stepping back behind the Iron Curtain in this refreshingly funny rendition of Woody Allen’s classic comedy. Performed at Temple Emanu-el, the show’s tickets are on sale now for performances on November 8 and November 15 at 7:30 pm, and matinees on November 9 and November 16 at 3:00 pm.

The comedic chaos begins when the Hollanders, an American tourist family seeks refuge in an American Embassy in an unnamed country behind the Iron Curtain during the height of the Cold War. They are believed to be spies because they were seen taking photographs in a high security area. The ambassador is away on business and has left his bungling son, Axel to oversee matters at the Embassy. Mayhem ensues as the Hollanders plot their frantic escape, and at the same time, the young Hollander daughter, Susan and the Ambassador’s son fall madly in love.

Don’t Drink the Water is directed by Richard Buckley and stars Steve Brustien as Walter, Helen Proimos as Marion, Stephanie Judge as Susan, Tommy Larson as Axel and features Aaron Meyer as Kilroy, Charlene Senzon as Countess Bordoni, Debby Wilson as Miss Burns, Jeff Stevens as Father Drobney, Jeff Gedacht as Krojack, Joseph Anfora as Ambassador Magee, Lloyd Baum as Sultan of Bashir, Pam Madison as Chef, and Lillian Baum as the Sultan’s first Wife. The play is co-produced by Nancy Sullivan and Lisa Simon-Weitz with Peter Triolo as Assistant Director.
