Long Island Teacher Competing On New Season Of 'Survivor'
The fourth-grade teacher says he's competing in the show to win money, and maybe make people smile along the way.

Tommy Sheehan, a fourth-grade teacher who lives in Long Beach, is a member of the newest cast of CBS's "Survivor."
Sheehan, who teaches in the Floral Park-Bellerose School District, is competing on the 39th season of the show, which is subtitled "Island of the Idols." The Idols are previous "Survivor" winners who will mentor the new teams to help them win.
"I am on the show to do something most people dream about," the 26-year-old Sheehan said in an interview posted on CBS's website. "I am there to win the game and get the million dollars. Those are my only motivations. If I happen to make people smile and help them escape whatever hardships are going on in their lives for an hour a week, that is a huge plus too."
