Man Assaults Nassau Cops, 3 Women Face Drug Charges: Police
Four people arrested Friday night, police say.

LONG BEACH, NY - An Oceanside man assaulted two Nassau County Police officers and tried to remove a gun from the holster of one of the officers Friday night in Long Beach, Nassau Police said.
Three women also face drug charges following a traffic stop on Austin Boulevard at California Place North around 9:47 p.m.
According to police, two Fourth Precinct officers pulled over a 2011 Nissan Altima, which was occupied by a man and three women.

During the investigation, the officers discovered a clear bag containing marijuana that belonged to the front seat passenger, 33-year-old Charles Rodriguez, police said.
After exiting the vehicle, Rodriguez was found to be in possession of gravity knife in his front pants pocket, police said.

As the officers attempted to place Rodriguez under arrest, he began to fight with them and resist, police said.
During the struggle, Rodriguez attempted to remove a gun from the holster of one cop and a baton from the other officer, police said.
Additional officers responded to the scene to assist in placing Rodriguez under arrest, police said.
The driver and two rear passengers remained in the Nissan during the struggle, police said.
In addition to the marijuana, three bags of heroin, a hypodermic syringe, cocaine and a hallucinogen were recovered from the vehicle, police said.
Charles Rodriguez, 33, is charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of second degree assault, third degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of second degree attempted robbery, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
The three women in the car–19-year-old Francesca Delfino, of Oceanside, 22-year-old Victoria E. Daniels, of Woodmere, and 21-year-old Adriana Cacioppo, of Hewlett–were arrested and each charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
