Maryland Couple Pulled Over In Island Park With Gun, Switchblades: PD

Janeal Turner and Janelle Terry face criminal possession of a weapon charges, Nassau police say.

ISLAND PARK, NY — A couple from Maryland were pulled over and arrested on Labor Day for carrying a gun, Nassau police said.

Detectives said the man and woman were stopped at 2:50 a.m. with Maryland vehicle plates after committing multiple traffic violations.

During the investigation, officers spotted two switchblade knives and a Hi-Point 9-millimeter handgun.

Janeal Turner, 29, and Janelle Terry, 27, were placed under arrest without incident, police said.

They were charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and were expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, according to police.
